Life-long campers, Nick and Nicky Kinson are from Great Britain (Cardiff in Wales originally ). Passionate about sharing our love of Bulgaria, we moved to Dragizhevo in 2007 to follow our dream to build a high quality campsite.
Our passion for Bulgaria started on our honeymoon in 2005. This was when we toured here in our beloved and well-travelled Swift Sundance motor home, as part of a tour of 27 European countries.
On our trip, we travelled through most of Europe and experienced a wide range of campsites. We were amazed by the beauty of Bulgaria and wanted to share our discovery with other travellers. This encouraged us to search extensively to find an ideal location to build our dream campsite. We found a plot of agricultural land in 2005 and so our adventure began.
A Passion For Camping
Our first challenge was to get electricity and water, then to build the house. During 2008 we built our Coffee Shop / reception, shower block and swimming pool.
Nick laid over 1 km of electricity cables, fresh-water pipes and waste-water drainage in the camping area. He deposited 1000 tons of material on the roadways. An old Russian mechanical roller weighing 32 tons, rolled the roads for more than 7 days. All of the hard work paid off and we welcomed our first guests in the summer of 2009.
We Care About Nature
Nature and ecology are vital to our campsite. Every year we are working on improving our environment for you and the natural environment.
We have embarked on an ecological development plan to introduce beautiful trees and plants to our campsite. So far, we have 127 mixed variety trees, some are fruit trees, but most are growing to provide shade and to promote local wildlife. Our gardens are maturing each year and they receive much adulation from campers and locals alike. We are bringing our dream to life through a blaze of colour throughout the camping season. We add new garden areas for relaxing and enjoying the magnificent Bulgarian countryside views.
Our Local Community
The campsite is accepted and supported by our Bulgarian neighbours. We have been made to feel an integral part of our local community.
The Dragizhevo village choir sing regularly at the campsite. Our staff are mostly from our village or the next town and they share our desire to become the best campsite in the Balkans.
We hope you enjoy your stay with us.
Best wishes for a happy holiday!
