The first meeting of the Bulgarian Campsites Association took place on 19th & 20th March 2022. The meeting was to discuss and establish a professional campsite owners organization in the industry. The organizer of the event was Glamping Alliance in Plovdiv. Veselin Valev of Camping.BG also played a pivotal role in the facilitating the meeting.

25 campsites across the country supported the initiative.

What was discussed?

During the two days of meetings, the campsite owners discussed the problems of camping tourism in Bulgaria. They also discussed potential solutions. The Bulgarian campsite owners also adopted the statutes and elected the leaders.

The Bulgarian Campsites Association aims to represent the united interests of the Bulgarian camping industry. It aims to create positive conditions and encourage the development of camping tourism in Bulgaria. Additionally, the association aims to promote Bulgaria as a preferred destination for campers and more.

An important part of the Association’s work will be to liaise with and support its members. It will represent them before institutions, participate in drafting regulations. It will develop, standardize and promote the quality of services offered by campsites. Together with this it will encourage the development of the provision of camping tourism throughout Bulgaria.

All participants agree that camping tourism has great potential in Bulgaria. The Bulgarian Campsites Association believe that the combined efforts of all in the industry, can solve problems.

Who is on the Management Team?

The first Chairman will be Radoslav Minkov . The members voted Nick Kinson, owner of Camping Veliko Tarnovo, onto the management committee. Three 3 other campsite owners from different parts of the country were also voted onto the board.

All providers of camping accommodation are welcome to join. The Association’s official registration is pending. Once the legal registration, website etc. are complete we will add more information. In the meantime, we wish the Bulgarian Campsites Association great success. We are looking forward to being an active member.
