Children’s Day
Children’s Day in Bulgaria and Romania is a day to honour and celebrate the youngest members of our families. After all, they are our future. In post we’ll give you some information about Children’s Day in Bulgaria, and what makes it special.
1. What is it?
This day is celebrated by almost all countries from the former Communist countries. It is important because it reminds adults of the necessity for special protection of children’s rights. Children’s rights include the ideas of equity in upbringing, education, social protection, and physical and spiritual development of all young people.
2. When is Children’s Day ?
This special day is on June 1. This has been the official date in Bulgaria since 1950.
3. Celebrations in Bulgaria.
This date is celebrated with plays and events, free admission for youngsters, fairs and festivals, concerts, shows, and social activities. There’s a lot of ice cream, balloons, smiles and laughter for everyone.
Often there are competitions for children’s drawings or events for face-painting. Best of all there is no school!
At Camping Veliko Tarnovo all children staying must come to Reception to ask for their Children’s Day surprise. Our youngest guests are important to us, so we are happy to celebrate with them!
