Han Hadji Nikoli Inn Restaurant, Veliko Tarnovo
Han Hadji Nikoli Inn Restaurant is located on Georgi Sava Rakovski Street in the old part of Veliko Tarnovo. People call this area of town the “Arts and Crafts Street”. People sometimes say Samovodksa Charshiya.
Hadji Nikoli, a famous Turnovo tradesman, built the Inn in 1858. He took an active part in the struggle for an independent Bulgarian Orthodox Church. The architect and master builder was the Bulgarian Kolyo Ficheto who created a magnificent monumental building. However, the Inn is also important because it survived through the years.
The Inn was recently restored and renovated to a high standard. The Han Hadji Nikoli Inn Restaurant is open for visitors with a restaurant, cafe, wine-bar, a wine-shop, museum and an art gallery. The restaurant offers a wide selection of traditional Bulgarian and international cuisine. The setting is magical. People enjoy fine food and wine sitting in the courtyard soaking up the summer evening sunshine. Also, the Inn has great reviews from guests on sites such as Trip Advisor.
