Where to Refill Gas Bottles Near Camping Veliko Tarnovo

If you’re touring through Bulgaria with a campervan or caravan, keeping your gas bottle topped up is essential for a smooth and comfortable trip. However, refilling gas bottles in Europe can sometimes be a bit tricky due to differences in regulations, bottle sizes, and connectors.

What You Need to Know

It’s important to remember that gas bottles and regulators differ from country to country in Europe. If you’re traveling from the UK, Germany, or France, for example, you may find that your gas bottle isn’t compatible with refilling stations in Bulgaria. In most cases, the size and shape of the regulators will differ, which can be a bit frustrating if you’re not aware of it in advance. If you’re planning to stay at Camping Veliko Tarnovo, we recommend checking your gas bottle and regulator before you arrive, especially if you’ll need a refill.

Refilling Gas Bottles in Bulgaria

In Bulgaria, refilling gas bottles is a little more restrictive compared to other countries. Most garages and petrol stations are not legally allowed to refill gas bottles, which can make it difficult to find a reliable location. However, we’ve found a local solution that’s both convenient and friendly!

Where to Refill Gas Bottles Near Camping Veliko Tarnovo

There is one garage in Veliko Tarnovo that can refill gas bottles for your camper or caravan. They are called Gas Logistics. They have a huge range of regulators which fit all types of gas bottles from across Europe and from the rest of the world too! It’s just a short drive from the campsite, easy to find, and the staff are very helpful. One important thing to remember is that they do not accept credit or debit cards, so make sure you bring Bulgarian Leva (BGN) in cash. The cost of a refill will depend on the size of your bottle, but it’s typically around 25 BGN. There is a cashpoint in Praktiker which is close by if you need some Bulgarian cash. The Praktiker car park is also accessible for large vehicles.

For your convenience, we’ll include a Google Map below with the exact location of the garage.
