You do not want to go to the city? After a long ride, you prefer to eat at a place near the campsite? You would like to experience traditional Bulgarian cuisine? In this case, Restaurant Megdancheto is the perfect place for you.

Restaurant Megdancheto is located in the neighbouring village, Merdanya. The name Megdancheto comes from the old Bulgarian word ‘megdan’. It means wide place, square. The word was very popular in the Bulgarian village in the past. The ‘megdan’ was the place where all the people from the village gathered. There, the young met, and the adults passed on their wisdom. Everyone talked, sang songs and danced.

The Restaurant Megdancheto has a summer terrace where you can dine outdoors. The place is pleasant for a quick snack as well as a delicious lunch or hearty dinner. The menu is based around Bulgarian traditional recipes. However, the menu is translated in to English.

In the restaurant you can enjoy different Bulgarian salads, appetisers, and meat dishes. It would be good to have in mind that local dishes are cooked with different cuts of meat and often the fat is not cut away so the flavour is more intense.

The restaurant is located 3 km from Camping Veliko Tarnovo. You can go by car, on foot, by motorbike or bike. If you would like, you can ask at Reception, and we will be happy to arrange a taxi for you.
