One question that campers ask us, is where can I find the local pharmacies and chemists? We all need a top up of our lotions and pills that keep us healthy and well.

Luckily in Bulgaria we are blessed with super aptekas or in Bulgarian АПТЕКА. They often have a green sign too, as shown above.

The closest pharmacy is in Lyaskovets. The staff speak some English and they are very helpful if you take a photo of the product you are looking for. Google Translate through your mobile phone is also a great help.

Alternatively, if you are in Veliko Tarnovo you can visit a super pharmacy in the entrance to Kaufland.

This chemist is from the SOpharmacy chain. They sell supplements, medicines and everything to top up your first aid kit. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable too.
