One question that is often asked, is where can I find the local pharmacies and chemists? We all need a top up of our lotions and pills that keep us healthy and well.

Luckily in Bulgaria we are blessed with super aptekas or in Bulgarian АПТЕКА. They often have a green sign too, as shown above.

The closest pharmacy is in Lyaskovets. The staff speak some English and they are very helpful if you take a photo of the product you are looking for. Google Translate through your mobile phone is also a great help.

Alternatively, if you are in Veliko Tarnovo you can visit a super pharmacy in the entrance to Kaufland.

This chemist is from the SOpharmacy chain. It is well-stocked with supplements, medicines and everything to top up your first aid kit. The staff are helpful and knowledgeable too.
